The Solomon Center opened in 1997. It is a one of a kind facility located on Strom Thurmond Boulevard. The Solomon Center is home to Andy’s Fitness Center, Victory Travel, The Retail Zone, and Jack's Frame
Shop & Craft.
The "Special Events Area" boasts a spacious 2,800 person seating capacity where ceremonies, concerts, sporting events and special events such as the Army Soldier Show are held. Other events include Community Awareness Day, Retiree Appreciation Day, BT Graduation Family Days, wedding receptions and Ethnic functions. The "Special Events Area" can also be divided into smaller conference and meeting areas which are available for private and command functions.
The Solomon Center can also provide tables, chairs, audio/visual & PA-sound system equipment. Catering is offered by both the Officer's Club and NCO club. Rental fees are based on space required, time, and affiliation and can be scheduled with the "Solomon Center Events Coordinator" at 751-4056 or 751-4058.
Other Points of Interest
C.C. Pinckney Elementary School's 6th grade class of 2001-2002 designed the palmetto tree sculpture situated in the fountain-seating area located at the front entrance of the Solomon Center. The sculpture was created by Robert Doster.
Patriots Park located in front of the Solomon Center offers gazebos and picnic tables, and the Fort Jackson Recreation Trail which winds its way through the park, around the Solomon Center and follows a five mile loop through Fort Jackson joining the
South Carolina Palmetto Trail.
Additional future plans provide for the Solomon Center to offer the community additional programs such as flea markets and craft shows.
