What is the Employment Readiness Program [ERP]?
The Fort Jackson Employment Readiness Program provides information and referral services in the areas of employment, education, training, transition, and volunteer opportunities to give family members the competitive edge needed to secure employment.
The Employment Readiness Program offers a wide range of services to include resume development, local job market research, home business opportunities, on-and-off post job listings, career counseling, Internet access and an employment and education resource library. The Employment Readiness Program also offers a variety of workshops and individual training sessions.
The Employment Readiness Program office operates as "your office" while you are developing your job search campaign. We want you to feel welcome, make yourself "at home" and use the facilities at Army Community Services. The Fort Jackson Employment Readiness office is located in Room 223 in the Strom Thurmond Building. Computers, typewriters, fax machine and employment resource books are available for clients use in preparing a resume, cover letter, and conducting on-line job searches.
ERP offers a Job Searching Strategies Workshop that assists jobseekers in getting a jumpstart in their job searching process. Topics include on and off post employment opportunities, Military Spouse Employment Partnership Program, Job Searching Tips, Midlands SC Works WIA Program and much more!! All military spouses who attend the Job Searching Strategies Workshop will receive one-on-one employment assistance, daily e-mail job postings and have resume sent to prospective employers!!Free Child Care is available for military spouses who attend the Job Searching Strategies Workshop. All child care needs must be coordinated and approved with the ACS Employment Readiness Office (751-4862) prior to attending the workshop in order to receive the free child care. The parent must register his/her child in advance with the Fort Jackson Child and Youth Services hourly care program.
