Youth Education Support Services
Youth Education Support Services [YESS] is responsible for assisting military youth on Ft. Jackson with transition issues and providing extracurricular activities from arts to life skills.
What Can YESS Do For You?
Provide a youth sponsor for incoming youth at Ft. Jackson or provide volunteer opportunities for youth to serve as a youth sponsor or a member of the CYS Welcome Wagon.
Offer access to youth computer labs and homework centers.
Provide support to military family members who home school.
Along with CYS Outreach Services, provide parent classes related to youth education issues.

School Liaison Services
Available to all military parents of school-aged children regardless of the school students attend.
Provides assistance with:
Issues with school registration and academic credits
Coordination of transition services
Information on local school systems, curriculum and school opportunities
Liaison with Fort Jackson command on educational issues affecting military children

Home Schooling & Home School Support
Planning to home school your youth while assigned to Fort Jackson? Contact the School Liaison Officer at 751-6150 for information on home school requirements in South Carolina.
Looking for support in home schooling your child/youth? Child & Youth Services is capable of providing the following types of support to home schooled youth:
· Open recreation opportunities
· Sports/fitness opportunities
· Use of the Youth Center during school hours
(gymnasium, technology lab)
· Information on support groups in the Columbia area (see listing)
· Space for support group meetings and/or support group events

CYS Welcome Wagon
New to Fort Jackson? Let's the CYS Welcome Wagon visit your child/youth. Children/youth currently enrolled in CYS programs visit newcomer's to the community welcoming them with smiling faces and a bag of gifts and letting them know that Fort Jackson is a great
place to live!
If you would like your child welcomed to the community, please contact the YESS Director at 751-3053 or submit the Welcome Wagon Request Form to the Central Enrollment Office at 3392 Magruder Ave in the Joe E. Mann Building.
